I found a web site once before (about 3 years ago) that had the information i am looing for, but i cant find (or remember) where i had looked. any info would be helpful.

i would guess collies, and a bunch of collie mixes. why, are you thinking of building your own?

The Border Collie, show Collie, Australian Shepherd, English Shepherd, Kelpie and McNab are all cousins, descended from working collies possessing traits that particular breeders found desirable for their purposes.

It would appear that the Border Collie descends from various British sheepdogs. One link I have says, possibly, two — but does not name them.
