This is for breeders of designer dogs. Can you tell me why would you want to breed designer dogs?

I have seen these dogs sell for a lot of money and I always thought people would not buy a dog unless it was AKC. I have seen quite a few designer dogs, but I can’t understand the high prices for them. please enlighten me. Thanks

They breed them purely for profit, it’s really disgusting. They never answer these types of questions bc they know what they are doing is wrong and they’re ashamed.
I too need enlightenment on why breeding mutts is ok.

We breed French Bulldogs. They are desirable, expensive and AKC registered. They are costly to breed as some need cesareans and are expensive . they are well worth it. I have 4 who are pets. Wonderful, friendly and intelligent with not too many health issues.

Hellloooooo? I don’t see any puppymillers or BYB’s jumping up to answer this. Maybe because they have no reason to create these mutts except to make money. They know what they do is unethical, so they sure aren’t going to defend it. They are too ashamed.

Pretty much the hybrids are just bred for profit as everyone is stating. But to each their own. If ya want a “dobaoodlecockapug” thats ur choice. =)

it is the same thing as having a purse from prada paying for the name some people will only buy name brands (my mom is one so I know) she will not buy sunglasses unless they are a name brand I feel that people such as my mother buy the top price dogs just to say look how much I bought this for bragging rights and breeders know that there are a lot of people out there like that so they will charge top dollar celebs. do not help think about it do you think Paris Hilton will be seen with a mixed mutt?

Even though I do NOT support breeding mix breed dogs. There are people who prefer mutts over purebreds.
The people doing the breeding are just out to make money on the pups. These dogs are nothing new. They have all been around for years, Only thing different is people are placing fancy names on them and charging an outrageous amount of money for them. And it sucks!
I should let you also know. Just because a dog is AKC it does not guarantee a great dog.

I’m NOT a breeder of mutts. But my answer because IDIOTS buy them and pay big money for them. It is the public’s fault we have these mutts and puppymills. HELLO get a clue all you people that by “Designer dogs” there not a F***EN handbag DESIGNER dogs come on

The breed for money. They know these people are willing to spend thousands of dollars to buy a mutt, so breed more varieties. Don’t expect they answer your question. They still believe what they are doing is right.

I am not a breeder of designer dogs but the owner of a designer dog; a Bichonpoo. I didn’t buy my dog because she was a designer dog. I was only permitted (as per the landlord) to have a small breed dog. I went to all the local shelters and some not so local and none had small breed puppies. I went online – no small breed puppies that I could afford. Pure breed small dogs were so expensive. Then I discovered a man not far from my house that was breeding Maltipoos and Bichonpoos in his house. He had the parents on premises. I went to his house everything was clean and the dogs well taken care of. He had a very small operation. My dogs litter was the only one he had. He said he bred these dogs because there was a high demand for low cost alternatives to pure breeds. People wanted small breed dogs that didn’t shed and had super personalities. He said that is why he bred them. He had the AKC papers for each of my pup’s parents and gave me copies of them. I didn’t pay a lot for the dog and all her first years exams, shots and spaying was covered. She has a lifetime congential health guarentee. My pup was raised for the first 12 weeks in the home of this breeder and she got such excellent care and so much love and attention. Today, at 18 months she is the sweetest, most gentle and loving dog I have ever owned. I love my dog not because she is a designer dog (I am not into status symbols) I love my dog because of the loving, kind and special soul that she is.

Don’t encourage them, call the dogs what they are Cross Breed Mutts.
They are Not designer dogs…
